Narrative & Storytelling

Black women, transgender, and non-binary people bring a critically intersectional lens to the climate movement. Writing, stories, and experiences of Black women, transgender, and non-binary people’s climate resilience and solutions serve as an invitation for others from these communities and beyond who are not often reflected and welcomed into the movement to find their place.

Writing Retreats

In October 2024, we gathered at Lake Temescal Beach House in Oakland, CA for our inaugural writing retreat. Over 30 Black women, transgender, and non-binary climate & environmental writers gathered to dream, ideate, and write together.

Milkweed Editions x The Lupine Collaborative

The Lupine Collaborative is partnering with Milkweed Editions to catalyze the work of Black women, transgender, and non-binary climate & environmental writers. We couldn’t dream of a better partner to align with to further the ideation, creation, and publishing of environmental & climate writing by these communities.

Milkweed Editions, the brilliant publisher behind Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer, A Darker Wilderness by Erin Sharkey, and You Are Here by Ada Limón.
